9/18 Meeting Recap

• If you haven't registered to vote, please do so!  During our meeting on October 23rd, we plan to walk down to the FAC so everyone has a chance to participate in early voting.
• If you have time on weekdays between 10am and 3pm and would be interested in tabling on the West Mall to help others register to vote, please sign up at one of our meetings or email an officer with the times you are available.
• Our release party for Casual Vacancy, J.K. Rowling's new book, will be on Friday, September 28th from 7pm-10pm in the Texas Governor's Room in the Union (UNB 3.116).  Please sign up if you can bring food or drink.
• We are doing a reprint of our popular "Keep Austin Wizard" T-shirts.  Sign up if you would like a shirt.  Non-members are also welcome to purchase shirts: the more we sell, the lower the cost per shirt.
• The Austin Teen Book Festival is on Saturday, September 29th.  Check out their website if you are interested.
• At next week's meeting (Tuesday, September 25th) we will be having House dinners, so come hungry!  We will meet at the usual time and place (6pm BUR 134), have a few announcements, and then separate by House to go eat dinner somewhere in the Union or on the Drag.  The dinners will be a great way to get to know your Heads of House and fellow House members.
• This week, we are holding officer elections.  Check out this post for biographies of the candidates, and visit our Facebook page for a link to the online poll.  The poll will be open until 8pm on Monday, September 24th.  Please do not re-post the link, as voting is restricted to HPA members.
